Here at Super Sport Bikes Online we are all divided as to which tire is the best performer.  This all depends of driving conditions, how we are riding our Super Sport Bikes, where we are ride - Track, Street, Country, Mountain Curves, etc...
Softer tires are made for gripping and are great for the track, racing, curves.  Soft tires seem to give the rider a safe feeling and we can rely on them when we are cornering or really hammering down and taking off.  Softer tires are usually more expensive and they don't normally last the entire season, but that will depend on how often you ride.  If you ride as often as we here at Super Sport Bike Online, then about two months.  If you have never tried a soft tire we all recommend at least trying a soft tire at least one season.

Newbies...if you are buying a soft tire, please don't cut costs with mixing the front and rear tire...make sure you buy the same brand of soft tire for the front as you do for the rear.  Each tire manufacture uses different compounds and technologies, so each tire is not created equally.  It's nothing like hitting a corner at high speeds, and feeling your rear or front tire breaking away from you!  Be safe!

Tire Size & Upgrading:

One of the most asked questions we all have talked about or have been asked from viewers and customers here at Super Sport Bikes Online is: How big of a rear tire can I put on without having to modify my sport bike?

There are a few factors and considerations one needs to take or at least think about before installing a larger tire then what the manufacture of your bike suggests.

  1.) Performance
  2.) Center of Gravity
  3.) Safety
  4.) Swing Arm Modification
  5.) Cost

Safety:

Always remember to warm up your tires before taking off quickly on your Super Sport Bike.  Accidents usually occur when your tire is cold and you take off!  The rear tire can break away.  Warm your tire up by riding for a few minutes.
